El Dorado Hills Real Estate
El Dorado Hills, California
El Dorado Hills, California - Traveling East on U.S. Highway 50 from the plains of Sacramento toward California’s historic Gold country, the golden foothills of the Sierra Nevada begin at the El Dorado County line. It is here that the beautiful village community of El Dorado Hills (EDH) is located. Situated halfway between the San Francisco Bay Area and the scenic Lake Tahoe Basin, unlimited recreational activities are less than two hours away by car. El Dorado Hills encompasses 17.9 square miles of land along the western boundary of El Dorado County, California. El Dorado Hills was mainly a bedroom community from its origin in 1962 until nearly the end of the 20th century. EDH’s population growth and commercial development accelerated around the year 2000. Development began in its Town Center area to form a true downtown business area, and its Business Park experienced increasing rates of construction and occupancy.

El Dorado Hills has become one of Central California’s most prestigious residential addresses as a result of careful planning, wonderful views of both the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Sacramento Valley, and recreational opportunities at nearby Folsom Lake. Total population within the El Dorado Hills Community Services District (CSD) was certified as 35,276 in January, 2006 by the California State Department of Finance. The El Dorado Hills Fire Department reported a population of 42,078 in its service area at the end of 2007. El Dorado Hills is recognized nationally for its high median household income. A vital part of this community’s future is the 885-acre El Dorado Hills Business Park where many of California’s progressive firms have relocated. New to the area and an exciting part of the future is the spectacular Serrano El Dorado Country Club and surrounding mix of luxury homes. This award-winning championship golf course is the home of the annual Senior Gold Rush Classic as well as many other charity fund raising events. Home prices in El Dorado Hills range from the mid-$100,000s to $1 million or more for estate homes or horse properties.
